Albany Stadium Pool

Auckland Council engaged RDT Pacific as Engineer to the Contract and Project Manager for the Albany Stadium Pool. RDT Pacific also provided a peer review of the cost estimate for the development.

Sited within the Albany recreational precinct and complementing its neighbour, QBE Stadium, the Albany Stadium Pool has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from the rapidly growing North Shore community. More than simply a pool, this aquatic leisure environment is designed to encourage all ages to take the plunge.

The interior leisure-focused swimming pool hall consists of a varied depth (800mm to 2500mm deep) 380 m² leisure pool, a 57 m² zero-depth splash pad with interactive play features and a 185 m² beached entry to 500mm deep kids’ pool with interactive play features. A separate but adjoined interior 20m x 15m concrete pool of varied depth (800mm to 1500mm) for ‘learn to swim’ activities has additional ramp access and a total pool area of 320 m².

The entrance and reception area has associated administrative offices and facilities.

An upper-level fitness centre consists of a cardio/resistance/free weights studio, reception and administrative area, assessment rooms, club style male and female change rooms and a separate group activity studio.

The lower level and partial basement zone contains the pool water treatment plant, controllers, pumps, pipework and boiler plant with a service vehicle yard and entrance.

The complex features sealed pedestrian ways and car parking precincts with accessible facilities and landscaping throughout.
