National Hockey Centre
RDT Pacific is proud to have provided client representative services to the Harbour Hockey Charitable Trust and New Zealand Hockey for the new world-class National Hockey Centre at Rosedale, which has been built by the New Zealand Transport Agency.
The $75m facility is the last of three sports facilities that have been relocated and improved in the area, as part of the Northern Corridor Improvement project.
The centre will not only be the home for North Harbour’s 8000-strong hockey community, but it will also be the training base for the Black Sticks teams.
The new venue has provided expanded and enhanced community facilities to support the growth (and growing needs) of community users and to promote and support participation in the sport of hockey throughout New Zealand.
The new facility has four new turfs, two of Global Elite and two of national standard. Features of the centre include floodlighting, covered seating for 450 spectators as well as 370 new carparks. A new walking and cycling bridge and shared path have also been completed to connect communities to Rosedale Park.
The new entry and clubhouse provide a welcoming environment for players, officials, supporters, members and the wider community. The clubhouse’s two-storey pavilion houses the clubrooms, changing rooms, a full commercial kitchen and member facilities for the local community.
