Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero (Auckland Central Library) Adaptation
RDT Pacific provided Cost Management/Quantity Surveying services for the refurbishment of Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero (Auckland Central Library), which included movement of furniture, shelving, repainting existing surfaces and new workstations and desks to create a fresh new space for a tight budget. Removal of an internal partition on Level 02 and new partition and rostra on the ground floor. Replacement of all lighting including emergency lighting on the customer experience floors.
This rethink of the look and feel of the central Auckland library was originally meant to be nothing more than a like-for-like replacement of the carpet. Instead, a new light-and-bright colour scheme, new placement, and arrangement of many of the fixtures, new signage, an engrossing mural, and bold new vinyl graphics have transformed a problematic space into a charming, engaging, thoroughly welcoming new facility.
This project has successfully transformed a problematic space into a charming, engaging, thoroughly welcoming new facility.
