Our commitment to te ao Māori

Me whai ana tātou katoa i te hua ōrite – arā ki te tangata kia whai hua i roto i tēnei ao hurihuri

Together let us build on that which will benefit the people within this ever-changing world

We’re proud of our ongoing commitment to te ao Māori

As an Aotearoa New Zealand-owned company, RDT Pacific has been firmly grounded in the fabric of our country’s construction industry for 80 years.

We work alongside tangata whenua, to build long-term partnerships, ensure participation, acknowledgement of tikanga and the protection of taonga.

We are committed to broadening our understanding and familiarity of te reo me ōna tikanga, mātauranga Māori and the provisions of Te Tiriti o Waitangi across our organisation.

Our passion for sustainability is strongly aligned with the concept of kaitiakitanga – the guardianship and protection of te taiao, the natural world.

As we strengthen and build on our knowledge and understanding of te ao Māori from within, our focus flows through to the projects we are part of.

Our Iwi Partnerships Programme

This programme was developed by RDT Pacific and piloted in Kirikiriroa Hamilton in 2021 to establish the first steps in our te ao Māori journey.

The programme is aimed at establishing genuine partnership opportunities to explore how we might better work together to grow talent and capability for industry, whānau, community and our organisation.

We are working with iwi to develop a partnership-based approach to provide opportunities for Māori through initiatives such as work experience, internships, a graduate programme, recruitment, staff training and consulting.

The Iwi Partnerships Programme is being extended nationally through our offices in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Rotorua, Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington and Ōtautahi Christchurch.
