Auckland University of Technology (AUT) AG Refurbishment
The AG Refurbishment Project at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) delivered a modernised, high-performing space tailored for the School of Education and Estates/Security team. Designed to enhance comfort, functionality, and longevity, the project reflects AUT’s commitment to creating sustainable and future-ready environments for staff and students.
RDT Pacific provided end-to-end project management and quantity surveying services, overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive refurbishment. This included upgrading the HVAC system to hi-wall and cassette units integrated with the building management system (BMS), new paint and carpet throughout, updated lighting and electrical/data reticulation, AV enhancements in meeting rooms, and new furniture and fittings. A new generator shed was also designed to support operational needs for the Estates/Security team.
Delivered under a NZS3910:2013 contract, the project brought together a skilled team of consultants and stakeholders. RDT Pacific worked closely with AUT’s Estates and Facilities teams, alongside mechanical, electrical, acoustic, and fire engineering specialists. Interior design was led by AUT’s Catherine Byrne-Sessa, whose thoughtful selection of recyclable fabrics and neutral tones helped create a cohesive and enduring aesthetic.
The refurbished AG building now offers a comfortable, flexible, and efficient space that supports AUT’s operational and educational goals. The integration of sustainable materials and design detailing ensures the space will serve the university well into the future. The project was delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality-reinforcing RDT Pacific’s reputation for reliability and excellence.
RDT Pacific was selected for our strong relationship with AUT, deep understanding of the campus, and proven ability to deliver complex refurbishments with clarity, confidence, and care.
