James Fletcher Drive Freight Forwarding Facility
Toll Group NZ engaged RDT Pacific as Project Manager for the delivery of their state-of-the-art purpose-built freight forwarding facility in Auckland.
The development includes a new freight forwarding facility and an adjacent parcels facility which includes a new head office for the Toll New Zealand team. The freight forwarding facility has a raised dock with double train access inside the enclosed shed to allow for cross dock activity from train to truck. The parcels warehouse has an internal parcels conveyor that allows for delivery vans to enter into the building and pick-up/deliver on the internal conveyor as well as a public pick-up point.
The project focuses on optimising the operational needs of Toll while maintaining industry leading Health & Safety standards for both the construction and the operation of the Facility post construction.
The 4 Green Star rated office adjoins the freight facility which includes high quality finishes and office experience for staff.
RDT Pacific agreed a procurement strategy with Toll that would provide best value for money and minimise project risk. RDT Pacific went to market on a design and build contract for the Toll Freight Forwarding facility and ancillary project works.
A complex stakeholder engagement process, included numerous workshops to align briefs and discharge all Toll obligations under the contract.
RDT Pacific also provided site selection, technical due diligence, business case development and sustainable advisory services for the 4 Green Star rated office.
