As influencer’s in the construction industry, RDT Pacific is committed to supporting sustainable practices, both on our projects and in our workplaces.
Sustainable Success
RDT Pacific is a member and supporter of the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC).
In 2011, RDT Pacific Director Simon Wilson was elected to the NZGBC Board of Directors, in addition to having been a part of the working group which helped to develop new NZGBC rating tools. Simon is currently the Chair of the Advisory Group of NZGBC.
RDT Pacific is well placed to manage projects aiming for a Green Star Rating, help our clients understand the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Low Carbon Construction & Operations.
Members of our team project managed the CourierPost development in the Highbrook Business Park, which received a pilot industrial Green Star certification in August 2009. In 2014, RDT Pacific delivered the NZGBC office fit out to the organisation’s exacting environmental standards.
Currently, RDT Pacific is engaged in several significant Green Star projects, including Waste Management Head Office & Warehouse, James Fletcher Drive Development for Toll Group NZ and Foodstuffs Head Office & Distribution Centre. We are also currently managing the largest PV installation in New Zealand.
Environmental and social good
Our project leadership roles provide us with the opportunity to make the future of construction a more sustainable one. Led by our Directors, we are developing practical tools to conserve resources and achieve up to 95% waste diversion on our projects.
30% of our staff have obtained their Green Star Professionals training nationwide, while we also have team members with WELL AP and Living Buildings training.
RDT Pacific has developed a Green Action Plan: an internal agenda to progress goals such as waste diversion, a move towards Electric Vehicles (EV’s), training and development, advocacy and social sustainability and well-being agendas within our office.
Green Property Summit
RDT Pacific was proud to be the Principal Sponsor for the 2019 Green Property Summit.
Hosted by Property Council New Zealand in conjunction with the New Zealand Green Building Council, the Green Property Summit is the only event in New Zealand genuinely dedicated to sustainability in the built environment.
RDT Pacific Director, Simon Wilson was a panellist on ‘The Doing’, speaking with panellists on the benefits and how to progress green building.
Enviromark
Enviro-Mark Solutions provides simple and effective environmental programmes, tools and certifications. Independent certification from Enviro-Mark Solutions proves that a company or product is taking credible action for a better environment.
As influencers, within the New Zealand construction industry, we feel that we have a responsibility to promote change and seek continual improvement in reducing our impact on the environment.
RDT Pacific is currently Enviromark Gold Certified.
